PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy and the reliability of the time in a GPS receiving apparatus. SOLUTION: The GPS receiving system contains a time supply means and the GPS receiving apparatus which calculates a receiving position while the present time acquired from the time supply means and radio waves transmitted from a GPS satellite are used, The receiving system is provided with a time acquisition and judgment part 6 in which a plurality of kinds of time supply means are installed and in which one time supply means is selected from among the plurality of kinds of time supply means so as to acquire the present time. By using the present time acquired by the part 6, the receiving position is calculated by the GRS receiving apparatus 1.
