MAP DISPLAY DEVICE, RECORDING MEDIUM AND MAP DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the difficulty in seeing the upper part of a map even when structures are displayed three-dimensionally on a scenographic map. SOLUTION: A map display device which displays a scenographic map by transforming coordinates in accordance with distance is provided with an information storage means 3 storing map data, a coordinate transformation means 12 transforming the two-dimensional coordinates of the map data stored in the information storage means 3 into two-dimensional coordinates of the scenographic map and a display control means 11 which sets a clip area except the fixed area of the upper part of the map in accordance with the kind of the map data and transforms the two-dimensional coordinates of the map data stored in the information storage means 3 into two-dimensional coordinates of the scenographic map by the means 12 in the clip area for every kind of the map data and displays the scenographic map based on the transformed coordinates and the device eliminates the difficulty in seeing the upper part of the map even when structures are displayed three-dimensionally on the scenographic map as compared with the case of displaying the whole of the map and raises a plotting speed.
