PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make automatically performable the mode selection in accordance with the intention of a photographer. SOLUTION: In the camera in which plural photographing modes are selected, a CPU 10 judges a photographing scene within a photographing screen by brightness (luminance) within a screen and a difference in e luminance of a main object part (focal position) and that of a background by using a photometric and colorimetric means 14 and circular judgment and the size of the diameter of a circular part by using range-finder 6, and stores the photographing scene in an EEPROM 15 after selecting a photographing mode by the mode SW12 operation of the photographer, and decides the photographing mode based on the judged result of a present photographing scene and a storing content stored in the EEPROM 15 in the case that the photographing does not select the photographing mode. |
