PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is capable of improving the degree of freedom in design and of preventing the occurrence of malfunction of a driving circuit due to a backlight from a backlight unit. SOLUTION: An array substrate 100 of the liquid crystal device is provided with the driving circuits 150 and 170 that output driving signals to scanning lines and signal lines. A polarizing plate 180, which is arranged on the surface of the array substrate 100, has a light shielding layer that is arranged to shield light at an area corresponding to the driving circuit. |
