PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability in the setting of a function and to prevent a set condition from being inadvertently changed against a user's wishes in a multi-functional camera. SOLUTION: An area selection member 30 is used also as an operation key in a 1st selection mode for selecting the focus detection area of a focus detector and an operation key in a 2nd selection mode for selecting the setting of the function of the camera. Then, the camera is equipped with a mode selection member 20 which can be set at three positions, that is, a local position, a wide position and a lock position. When the member 20 is at the lock position, the focus detection area selected at the local position is fixed if the member 20 is moved from the local position to the lock position, and a wide mode is fixed if the member 20 is moved from the wide position to the lock position. |
