PURPOSE: An oil pump for decreasing waste of engine power is provided to increase supply amount of oil by extending a contacting area with an inner gear and to improve heat efficiency by preventing loss of engine driving force. CONSTITUTION: An oil pump for reducing waste of engine power comprises a pair of inner gears(2) mounted on a pump housing(1); a pair of outer gears(3) combined to the inner gear; an outer gear shaft(5) contacted to a middle portion of the outer gear; a piston(6) fixed on an end portion of the outer gear; a cylinder(7) having the piston; an outer gear shaft housing(9) surrounding the outer gear shaft; a high pressure chamber(10) installed on the cylinder; high pressure oil supplying and discharging lines(12,13) connected to the high pressure chamber; lower pressure oil supplying and discharging lines(14,15) combined to a lower pressure chamber; and a solenoid valve(16) supplying high pressure oil. Thereby, the oil pump for reducing waste of the engine power improves heat efficiency by preventing loss of engine driving force.
