PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for opening and closing the keyboard lid of a keyboard instrument with which penetration of foreign materials and sandwiching caused by a stay can reliably be prevented, the number of components can be reduced without causing a problem of durability, and thereby, the manufacturing cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: The apparatus for opening and closing a keyboard lid is provided with right and left wooden crossarms 5 and 5 which dispose a playing part 4 between front parts, a roof 7 which covers between the upper back parts of the wooden crossarms 5 and 5, the keyboard lid 8 whose rear end part is freely turnably attached to the fulcrum 11 of the roof 7, and which is turnable between a opening position to open a playing part 4 and a closing position to close the playing part 4, and the stay 12 extended in the longitudinal direction and provided on the keyboard lid 8 in the state projected from the back surface to rearward of the keyboard lid 8, which turns along the wooden crossarm 5 with turning of the keyboard lid 8 and holds the keyboard lid 8 to the opening position. The stay 12 has a prescribed side shape so that it includes the turning trajectory of a base end at the side of the keyboard lid 8 of the stay 12, when the keyboard lid 8 is at the opening position. |
