PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique for objectively determining ability of proofreaders for digitized documents using an OCR program or the like. SOLUTION: This invention relates to an ability control method for proofreaders for proofreading an electronic document generated from a recognized document by executing the automatic character recognizing program. It comprises a procedure of estimating latent mis-recognized characters included in the electronic document, a procedure of calculating the number of detected mis-recognized characters as the number of mis-recognized characters in the electronic document detected by the proofreader, a procedure of detecting processing time required for proofreading the electronic document, and a procedure of determining a raw score related to the ability of the proofreader based on a ratio between the number of the latent mis-recognized characters and the number of the mis-recognized characters detected per unit time. |
