PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming material removing apparatus which can remove an image forming material from an image holder and securely separate the image holder from an image peeling member with simple constitu tion. SOLUTION: The parts of an image peeling roll 12 which corresponds to the vicinity of the width-directional end parts of a recording medium P are non-peeling areas 72 where an image peeling layer 20 is not formed. On the downstream side of a clamp part 50 between the image peeling roll 12 and a pressure roll 14, a separation claw 55 is so arranged that its tip part 58 comes into contact with the non-peeling area 72. The recording medium P having toner T removed exits from the clamp part 50 by conveyance, the front end moves onto a surface 60, and the medium is separated from the image peeling roll 12.
