PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which has a short preheating time and displays stable fixing performance by using different preheating end conditions according to the scheduled number of objective sheets of fixation. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus which uses an image fixing apparatus wherein heat is supplied directly to a fixing belt uses different preheating end conditions according to the scheduled number of objective sheets of fixation.
