PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of light modulation of a resonance-type light modulator which makes it possible to control impedance between a resonant electrode and a feeding electrode after the light modulator is manufactured, and to provide the resonance-type light modulator. SOLUTION: A convex electrode 16 is formed in the middle of the side of the resonant electrode 3. Further, countering electrodes of grand potential 17-1 and 17-2 are provided so that the projection electrode 16 is sandwiched. By breaking the projection electrode 16 its length is made short, or by connecting electrode plates 18-1 to 18-3 its length is made long, and thereby the impedance of the resonant electrode 3 is changed, and then impedance matching with the feeding electrode 5 is made.
