PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal projector which can reduce the noise by a cooling fan. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal projector, which is equipped with one or more cooling fans, has a temperature sensor to detect the temperature inside the liquid crystal projector, and a driving control circuit which controls the driving voltage of the cooling fan based on the temperature detected by the temperature sensor. This driving control circuit, when the temperature detected by the temperature sensor is within the specified range, controls the driving voltage of the cooling fan in proportion to the temperature detected by the temperature sensor.
