PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass cutter of a glass melting furnace capable of reliably cutting small rod-like glass, and preventing the molten glass from overflowing from a canister and clogged therein. SOLUTION: A stream port 9 of the glass melting furnace is communicated with the canister c by a cutter casing 21, and a cutter member 22 having at least a pair of upper and lower cutter blades 26 and 27 so as to be across the stream port 9 side and the canister c side horizontally is provided inside thereof. Since the small rod-like glass G formed between the stream port 9 and the canister c can be reliably cut and removed at the canister c and at two or more positions thereabove, the small rod-like glass G can be prevented from overflowing from the canister c and clogged therebetween after the re- starting.
