PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous measuring method for the solid quantity of coated paint allowing the continuous measurement of the solid quantity of the coated paint. SOLUTION: When an automobile 40, a coated object, is moved on a coating line 38, the position is measured by an encoder 42. On the basis of position measured data, a controller 44 drives a film thickness measuring device 46 and a solvent quantity measuring device 48 to measure the film thickness d and contained solvent quantity W of coated paint in the same position on a body of the automobile 40. The solid quantity NV is computed from the measured result by the following equation. Equation 4: NV=Kx(d/W), wherein K is a constant.
