摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color display device in which light emitting luminance and color temperature of a display are automatically corrected and controlled without a user to control a control switch even though extraneous light is dark. SOLUTION: An extraneous light receiving section 7 is provided to detect luminance data of extraneous light beams and color temperature data. Video input signals are amplified by a video input circuit 22 and supplied to a video converting circuit 24. Synchronizing signals extracted by a synchronizing signal extracting circuit 23 are supplied to a microprocessor 20 of a correcting section 19. The RGB outputs of the section 7 which receives extraneous light beams are inputted into the section 19. An R correcting circuit 3, a G correcting circuit 4 and a B correcting circuit 5 are inserted to the input signal system of a display 2. The section 19 conducts correction control of the display luminance and color temperature of the display 2. When the luminance of extraneous light beams detected by the section 7 exceeds a prescribed value, a normal detection is conducted. When the luminance of the extraneous light beams is less than the prescribed value, detection of the extraneous light beams is conducted while the display 2 is turned off.
