PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material excellent in photographic performance and image preservability. SOLUTION: In the heat developable photosensitive material containing at least one photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions and a binder on one face of the base and having at least one middle layer between a photosensitive silver halide-containing layer and a hydrophilic colloidal layer applied thereon, (1) the amount of a water-soluble binder contained in the middle layer is 0-15% of the total binder content and/or (2) the middle layer contains particles of at least one kind of particle having 0.1-30 nm average particle diameter.
