PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective liquid crystal display device excellent in a white display and a black display and having high contrast. SOLUTION: A prism 9 is formed on a front surface of an incident side substrate 6. An electrode 4, on which an alignment layer 2 is formed, is formed on a back surface of the incident side substrate 6. A reflective film 8, on which an electrode 5 and an alignment layer 3 are serially formed, is formed on a front surface of a reflection side substrate 7. The incident side substrate 6 and the reflection side substrate 7 are disposed opposite each other, and a liquid crystal layer 1 is sandwiched between the alignment layer 2 and the alignment layer 3. The prism 9 has a surface perpendicular to the incident side substrate 6 and a slope surface, in which a sectional configuration thereof is serrate. As to the prism 9, an absorption layer 11 is formed on the surface perpendicular to the incident side substrate 6. |
