PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical devoice and a light transmission body which can be miniaturized and can be made to be light in weight and an electronic appliance provided therewith. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal device 100 is provided with a liquid crystal panel 110 and a holding member 120. An IC 115 for driving liquid crystal and chip parts 116 are packaged on a substrate extension part 111T of the liquid crystal panel 100. The holding member 130 is provided with a storage recessed part 122a for storing the IC 115 for driving liquid crystal and a storage recessed part 122b for storing the chip parts 116 on an extension opposing part 122.
