PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical deflector capable of keeping required characteristics for temperature changes or variations over time by securely fastening a rotational polygon mirror to a support member, while miniaturizing the size and facilitating the incorporation. SOLUTION: The deflector includes a rotor 4 integrally fastened to an axis of rotation 1, the rotational polygon mirror 5 engaged and supported to the support member 3 integrally formed with the rotor 4, an elastic member 6 and a fastening member 7 to press the rotational polygon mirror 5 onto the support member 3. The fastening member 7 is placed in contact with the support member 3 and tightened to the support member 3 by a screw 8 so that the rotational polygon mirror 5 is pressed onto the support member 3 by a wave washer 6 disposed between both members 3, 7. The fastening member 7 and the support member 3 are made of materials having approximately identical thermal expansion coefficient. |
