摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detecting method for a buried pipe capable of easily detecting a position of a plastic made pipe buried underground. SOLUTION: In this position detecting method for the buried pipe 2, an electrode 7 is provided on a tip of a probing stake 30 and the electrode 7 is connected to a power source 8 and an ammeter 9 through wiring 5a. A vibration sensor 4a is provided on the probing stake 30 and the vibration sensor 4a is connected to a measuring apparatus 6 through wiring 5. Two probing stakes 30 are driven with a suitable interval in between in the ground 1 buried with a foreign matter 2a such as the buried pipe by, for example, a hammer, and then the probing stakes 30 are vibrated by striking them by a force not moving positions of the probing stakes 30. At this point, the hammering sound is detected by the vibration sensor 4a and measured by the measuring apparatus 6. This work is repeated to determine a difference in the hammering sounds at each position of the probing stakes 30. At the same time, a current is applied to the probing stake 30 to measure resistivity between a pair of the probing electrodes. By determining the difference in hammering sounds and measuring the resistivity like this, the position of the foreign matter 2a can be detected.
