PURPOSE: A method for controlling a remote board by using a packet network is provided to manage and control a state about a board located in a remote place by using the packet network in a random board connected to the packet network. CONSTITUTION: A random board receives a monitor port command through a monitor port(S1). The random board judges whether the received monitor port command is a control command for monitoring and debugging the random board or a control command for monitoring and debugging a remote board(S2). If the received monitor port command is the control command for monitoring and debugging the remote board, the random board inserts an address and information of a designated remote board into a packet and transmits the packet to the remote board through a packet network(S4). The remote board receives the packet data through the packet network, confirms packet information from the packet data, and extracts monitor port data requested from the random board(S5). The remote board performs a self monitoring and self debugging and outputs the result(S6). The remote board processes the outputted monitoring and debugging result together with an address and information of the random board as a packet, and transmits the processed packet to the random board through the packet network(S7). The random board confirms the packet data transmitted from the remote board, extracts the monitor port data, and outputs the monitor port data through the monitor port(S8).
