PURPOSE: A data storing apparatus and method by a phone call are provided to avoid an inconvenience of a failure of making a memo for an import appointment or information made during a call by converting a voice signal during a call b a phone connected to a computer into a text data, storing it, later reading the call content and storing it as a text file in a memory. CONSTITUTION: A signal line of a phone set(1) passes through a computer(3) so that a voice signal during a call can be detected by a signal detector(4) of the computer(3). The detected voice signal, an analog signal, is converted by a voice-text converter(5). The text file information is temporarily stored together with call date in the first region(6a). When there is a request by a user through an input unit of a key board(7) or a mouse(8), a controller(9) recognizes the request and reads the text file information stored in the first region(6a). When the user deletes or adds a portion of the content while using the input key of the key board(7) for the read text file information, a text editing unit(10) corrects the file information and edits the call content as a memo type under the control of the controller(9). The editing procedure is displayed on a monitor(12) through a display driving unit(11), so that the user can edit the content while viewing it. The editing-completed file information is stored in the second region(6b) of the memory(6) so that the user can read it for checking as required.
