DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASURING WIDTH OF ATYPICAL SLAB

PURPOSE: A device and method for measuring width of an atypical slab is provided to exactly measure width without considering shape or slanting of the slab. CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring width of an atypical slab comprises a slab(2) moving on a transferring table(8); a second-dimensional CCD camera(20) sensing the slab by being mounted on an upper portion of the transferring table; a linear CCD camera(40) sensing width of the slab by being mounted between the transferring table and the second-dimensional CCD camera; an illuminator mounted on an inner roll of the transferring table; a fixing plate(60) fixing the linear CCD camera; a computer(70) calculating the width of the slab; and an SCC(Superior Control Computer)(80) receiving the width of the slab. Thereby, the device for measuring the width of the atypical slab exactly measures the width without considering shape or slanting of the slab.
