PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sterilize by an ultraviolet sterilization device a passage and the peripheral area of a cap feeder installed on the forward step of a capping- tightening machine is conveyed, and to prevent adhesion of bacteria, etc., from adhering to a sliding surface of the cap and its neighborhood. SOLUTION: The capping device 10 is equipped with a capping-tightening machine 12 having a capping head 40 to mount a cap 1 to a mouth part of a bottle 6 while the bottle 6 filled with contents is supplied, and a cap-feeder 14 which conveys the cap held by the capping head 40 by sliding to a catching position by the capping head 40. In the cap-feeder 14, the ultraviolet sterilization device 50 which sterilizes by ultraviolet ray a cap-conveying line 32 conveying the cap 1 and around it and the capping head 40 is provided.
