The present invention relates to compositions capable of reducing or preventing the uptake of excess sugars by the body. Such compositions find particular use as a dietary supplement, e.g. for maintaining a particular weight condition, for losing weight or for treating conditions such as obesity. The compositions are orally administrable and comprise at least one alpha-amylase inhibitor together with at least one physiologically acceptable compound capable of reducing intestinal absorption of "fast" sugars. |
