ACTIVE MATERIAL OF ELECTRODE FOR LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY AND LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY PREPARED BY USING THE MATERIAL

PURPOSE: An active material of the electrode for a lithium secondary battery and a lithium secondary battery prepared by using the active material are provided, to improve the ion conductivity of an electrode, thereby enhancing the charging/discharging characteristics and the lifetime. CONSTITUTION: The active material comprises an electrode active material; a conductive material which comprises carbon powder and graphite powder in the ration of 3;1 to 1:3 by weight; a binder which comprises a bonding resin as a first binder and a second binder capable of partially dissolved in an organic solvent to be gelled, in the ratio of 1:3 to 3:1 by weight; and a solvent. Preferably the first binder is selected from the group consisting of polyvinylidene fluoride, vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene copolymer, polyimide, poly(methyl methacrylate) and their mixtures, and the second binder is selected from the group consisting of poly(vinyl acetate), poly(vinyl chloride), poly(vinyl pyrrolidone), poly(vinyl alcohol) and their mixtures.
