The clutch operator has an elastic compensating sleeve(14) fitted between the bore of the stationary ring(7) of a rolling bearing and seat face(3a) of a sliding sleeve(3). The compensating sleeve has a metal annular core(16) with a gap extending from one end face as far as the opposite lying end face. The gap runs parallel to the axis of the compensating sleeve or at an angle to it. The core has a shoulder(16a) extending radially and interacting with an end face of the stationary ring of the rolling bearing.
