PRINTING INK COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment-conscious printing ink composition for paper printing, in which a volatile organic solvent content is reduced to the utmost, containing a vegetable oil fatty acid ester as a solvent component and having high-speed setting property. SOLUTION: This printing ink composition is characterized in that (a) varnish contains a rosin-modified phenol resin having <30,000 average weight average molecular weight and the vegetable fatty acid ester capable of dissolving the above resin and (b) the volatile organic solvent content is <=3 wt.%.
