PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preferentially produce a trans-silacyclohexane compound. SOLUTION: This method for producing the silacyclohexane compound of the general formula (4), characterized by converting a compound of the general formula (1) into a halosilacyclohexane of the general formula (2), reacting the halosilacyclohexane with an alcohol of the general formula: R'OH to convert into an alkoxysilacyclohexane of the general formula (3), equilibrating the alkoxysilacyclohexane, and then reducing the equilibrated compound. Therein, R is an alkyl, an alkoxyalkyl or a fluoroalkyl; Ar is an aryl; Q is a non- condensed polycyclic group represented by a fluorophenylcycloalkyl.
