PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chalk eraser which can erase efficiently a letter or the like written by chalk and also prevents the dust of the erased chalk from scattering or falling from the eraser and from re-sticking to a blackboard. SOLUTION: The chalk eraser uses a woven-knitted fabric for the part of erasing a chalk letter or the like. The fabric is manufactured by using composite fibers of a multilayer lamination type constituted of two or more kinds of polymers different in a dissolution parameter by 2 MJ/m3 or more from each other and non-compatible with each other, as a part or the whole of a fibrous material for manufacturing the fabric. The fabric has, on the surface, piles which are constituted of extremely thin fibers produced by division of the composite fibers, having a single fiber size less than 0.6 dtex and being 1-10 mm long, and the pile density thereof is 40,000 pcs/cm2 or more.
