发明名称 DISCRIMINATION APPARATUS FOR PAPER SHEETS
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discrimination apparatus which can surely discriminate the authenticity of paper sheets to which a printing treatment has been executed by jointly using an ordinary printing ink and a luminescent ink. SOLUTION: The bill M discrimination apparatus discriminates the authenticity of a bill M to which the printing treatment has been executed while both the luminescent ink which emits light when placed in a prescribed environment and the ordinary printing ink are used. The discrimination apparatus is provided with a first light receiving element 52 which receives the light emitted from the luminescent ink placed in the prescribed environment, and a second light receiving element 53 which receives reflected light from the ordinary printing ink as light whose wavelength is different from the emission wavelength of the luminescent ink. The first and second elements 52, 53 are arranged so as to receive light from the same position of the bill M. The discrimination apparatus is provided with a correlation computing means by which output values from the first and second elements 52, 53 due to their light receiving operations are compared so as to compute a correlation between both, and an authenticity discrimination means which discriminates the authenticity of the bill M on the basis of the computation result of the correlation computing means.
