<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust treating device for an internal combustion engine capable of satisfying each characteristic of scavenging performance of particulates, pressure loss caused by scavenging, regeneration performance, and durability, in simple constitution. SOLUTION: This exhaust treating device has filter elements 10L, 10R having multilayer structure formed by arranging a filter material made of a metal fiber nonwoven fabric between a first porous body 11 locating on an inlet side of exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine and a second porous body 13 locating on the outlet side of the exhaust gas, at least two filter elements 10L, 10R are filled in one container, a space within the container is separated in the exhaust gas inlet side and the exhaust gas outlet side, exhaust gas inlets 15L, 15R introducing exhaust gas into a space 14a on the exhaust gas inlet side and exhaust outlets 16L, 16R exhausting the exhaust gas from the space 14a on the exhaust gas inlet side to the outside of the container are installed in each space, an exhaust port 23 exhausting the exhaust gas from the space 14a on the exhaust gas exhausting side to the outside of the container is installed, and a heating means is installed in the filter elements 10L, 10R.</p> |
