PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a window grille which is simple in structure, low in manufacturing cost, easy to handle, and sufficiently openable. SOLUTION: The window grille 10 consisting of upper and lower horizontal bars 11 and 12 and vertical bars 13, is rotatably mounted on an upper portion of a window frame by connecting an upper bracket 14 and an upper mounting plate 15 to each other by means of a pin 16a, on each of right and left ends of the window bar apparatus. With respect to the lower horizontal bar 12, a lower bracket 20 mounted on the window frame, a first link 21, a second link 22, and a lower mounting plate are connected to each other via a first joint 24a, a second joint 24b, and a third joint 24c, respectively, on each of the right and left ends of the window bar apparatus, whereby the links are foldable and expandable. As a result, by fastening/relaxing a hinge screw 27, the window bar apparatus 10 is kept in a brake-and-enter blocking state under normal conditions whereas a lower portion of the window grille 10 can be opened in an emergency or when cleaned.
