PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil collector for recovering the oil floating on water surface, capable of automatically installing an oil collecting member onto the water surface, and efficiently collecting the oil by one ship. SOLUTION: This oil collecting device 20 is provided with an oil collecting boom 21 vertically movably mounted along a guide pole 22 installed at a board side, and comprises an elevating device 23 and a pair of oscillating driving winches 24, a tip at a bow side is oscillated on the guide pole 22 as a fulcrum to a side separated from a ship body side face 11 by the pair of oscillating and driving winches 24 to be opened at a predetermined angle in a state that the oil collecting device is lowered onto the sea surface by the elevating means, and the oil floating on the sea surface is collected between the oil collecting boom 21 and the ship body side face 11 in navigating the ship body.
