PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the weather resistance of the baked coating film of a polyester resin crosslinked with a melamine or isocyanate crosslinking agent in no need of ultraviolet stabilizer and inhibit the premature gloss deterioration and discoloration of the polyester baked paint film of high processability. SOLUTION: Vinylidene fluoride resin is admixed into the coating film, preferably baked so that the maximum temperature may reach >=220 deg.C and the vinylidene fluoride resin may be distributed thick on the coating film surface whereby the fluorine concentration is increased higher than 5 at.% on the surface of the paint film. When this coated layer is formed as a finishing layer after the surface-treated metal plate is put in the undercoat, the objective coated metal having excellent processability and resistance to weather is obtained.
