PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame constructing method which can mount an upper rail which is easily attachable/detachable to/from a frame, according to a simple construction procedure, and to provide a frame constructing structure. SOLUTION: According to the frame constructing method using a pair of jambs 1 and the upper rail 2 for guiding the travel of sliding doors, a holding tool 3 is installed in each of the jambs 1 at an upper end thereof so as to protrude toward the interior of the jamb 1, and the jambs 1 are erected on both sides of an opening in which the sliding doors are accommodated, such that the holding tools 3 face to each other. Then, a top face 2a of the upper rail 2 is engaged with a protruding portion 3a of the holding tool 3, whereby the decorative frame on the periphery of the sliding doors is formed.
