PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent noises in the case of the total opening of a sliding door and prevent the damage of an opening-position control member or the like for the sliding door, a sliding-door frame or the like, and to close the totally opened sliding door after a desired time even in a sliding door device in which the opened sliding door is closed automatically by the urging force of a closing- force generating means. SOLUTION: In the sliding door device, in which the sliding door is installed movably to the sliding-door frame for conducting open-close operation and which has the closing-force generating means for moving the sliding door in the direction of the closing of the door and the first braking device for braking the sliding door before the sliding door is closed completely, the second braking device giving braking force to at least one sliding door in the direction of the opening of the sliding door before total opening and the direction of the closing of the sliding door opened up to a fixed position is mounted.
