POLYESTER MONOFILAMENT AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester monofilament improved in hydrolytic resistance and life under high temperature and high humidity and an industrial woven fabric typified by papermaking drier canvas using its monofilament. SOLUTION: This polyester monofilament is characterized in that the monofilament comprises >=80 wt.% saturated polyester (A) containing 0.2-15 wt.% styrene-2-isopropenyl-2-oxazoline random copolymer (B) and >=0.02 wt.% unreacted monocarbodiimide compound and the terminal carboxyl group concentration is <=7 equivalent based on 106 g of the monofilament.
