PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which makes sure to enable to protect a compressor without using a pressure switch. SOLUTION: A refrigerating cycle is constituted of a compressor 10 and an outside heat exchanger (condenser) 13 which are installed outside of a room of a vehicle, and an inside heat exchanger (evaporator) 19 which is installed inside. A compressor motor 11 is set up to drive the compressor 10. A temperature sensor 12 and 14 which detect a coolant discharge temperature and/or a coolant outlet temperature are set up. A controller 28 is equipped to control an operation of the compressor motor 11. The controller 28 controls the number of revolutions of the compressor motor 11 based on a temperature TH which is detected by the temperature sensors 12 and 14.
