PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crucible for suppressing at a low level staining from a fire-resistant metal in a silica fusing furnace for fusing silica into a desired shape. SOLUTION: In an electric heating furnace for fusing silica and drawing a silica product having a desired shape through an orifice or die provided at the bottom part of the furnace, the crucible 10 to be used is constituted of the external surface comprising a fire-resistant metal layer 11 consisting of tungsten or molybdenum, or a combination of these elements, and the inner lining 13 made from a non-reactive barrier material selected from the group consisting of rhenium, osmium, iridium, or a mixture of these three elements.
