PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method capable of obtaining a gold colloid particle pigment having a stable hue and establish a means for obtaining the gold colloid particle pigment giving a bright color tone. SOLUTION: This method for producing a gold colloid particle pigment is to mix a gold colloid solution or a gold colloid solution mixed with a natural pigment such as a dyer's saffron or the like with an alginate (salt), add the solution of a >=2 valent metal salt to gelatinize the gold colloid and dry the fractionated gel material.
