PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic polymeric hybrid-based vibration damping material having a high loss tangent tanδand also a high loss modulus (E"), and showing little deterioration with time. SOLUTION: The vibration damping material and a method of manufacturing the same are provided, the vibration damping material comprising an organic polymer matrix material and a material showing piezoelectric/dielectric/ conductive effects, wherein the material showing piezoelectric/dielectric/ conductive effects consists of basic nitrogen containing compounds and alkylphenolic compounds. The vibration damping improving agent comprises the basic nitrogen containing compounds and alkylphenolic compounds to be used for the organic polymeric hybrid-based vibration damping material.
