PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant olefin resin composition being excellent in flame retardance, mechanical characteristics, an appearance of an extruded article and scratching resistance, and having a cost merit. SOLUTION: The flame retardant olefin resin composition comprises compounding per 100 pts.wt. of an ethylene copolymer, 50-150 pts.wt. of a natural Brucite ground material which has an average secondary particle diameter of >0.5μm to <=4μm and which is surface treated with a silane coupling agent of a desired scope, 0.05-3.0 pts.wt. of a crosslinking agent, and 0.05-1.0 pts.wt. of a catalyst.
