PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste melting furnace with which heating temperature can be readily controlled. SOLUTION: The furnace is provided with a furnace body 3 having a shape of a recessed plate, in which the inside bottom surface is covered with a conductive ceramics 4. The furnace body 3 is supported by the floor of a furnace 1 through a plurality of hydraulic jacks 2, and an electromagnetic induction coil 5 placed in an axial direction is supported so as to be moved along the vertical and horizontal directions (back and forth, and left and right directions) above the furnace body 3. Further, the furnace body 3 is provided with a plurality of thermocouples 12 for measuring the inside temperature of the furnace body 3 with a given interval. The furnace is further provided with a drive 14 for moving the coil 5 and with a control unit 15 for controlling a high frequency power source 13 which applies high frequency current on the coil 5 based on the results of measurement by the thermocouples 12.
