PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and properly correct curl without causing a sheet jam and a damage load to sheet by the occurrence of a difference between a sheet carrying speed in a nip part of a nip mechanism and a sheet carrying speed by a sheet carrying means for carrying the sheet even when a sheet related condition such as a kind of the sheet and the image density is different including a condition of a pressing-down position of a pressing roller in the nip mechanism in a curl correcting device having the curved nip mechanism. SOLUTION: A control means is arranged for adjusting a rotating speed of an elastic rotary body composed of a belt or an elastic roller of the curved nip mechanism according to the sheet related condition and the condition of the pressing-down position of the pressing roller in the nip mechanism.
