PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master cylinder capable of running off a brake fluid well at a traction control. SOLUTION: A rotation direction positioning means 38 adapted to position each other in rotation direction such that a communicating port 36 is normally opened to a communicating path forming part 37 is mounted on a guide ring 25 having an oil supplying chamber formed with an outer circumferential face of a piston by engaging the piston with it and having the communicating port 36 formed with one side opening to the oil supplying chamber and another opening to its outer circumferential face and on a sleeve 24 having the communicating passage forming part 37 mounted to have the guide ring 25 engaged with it and to form a communicating passage communicating with a reservoir.
