摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion controller for a cylinder injection type internal combustion engine capable of forming an air-fuel mixture of a proper fuel concentration regardless of fuel properties in stratified charge combustion to suppress deterioration of a combustion state. SOLUTION: In this combustion controller, an electronic controller 40 changes over a combustion mode of the engine 10 between the stratified charge combustion and uniform combustion on the basis of an engine load and an engine speed. The electronic controller 40 compares a knock learning value with a reference knock learning valueαto detect whether fuel is heavy fuel or light fuel. In the stratified charge combustion, the electronic controller 40 controls such that an interval between injection timing and ignition timing is long, to secure a time for vaporization of the fuel, in the case of the heavy fuel. In the case of the light fuel, the electronic controller 40 controls such that the interval between the injection timing and the ignition timing is short. Thereby, dispersion of the fuel is suppressed.
