PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vortex flow meter having a vortex generating body composed of a pillar shape projection in a pipe line arranged so as to be perpendicular to the flow passage of the fluid flowing through the pipe line, and having a detecting means for detecting variation of the flow caused by the vortex generating means arranged in the downstream passage from the vortex generating means, wherein the vortex generating body can easily be formed in the pipe line at a low cost. SOLUTION: The vortex flow meter has such a configuration that a pair of guide grooves 1a, 1b are arranged in a pipe wall of the pipe line 1 including the range from an inlet opening to a position of the vortex generating body 2 so as to be point symmetry or axial symmetry with respect to the center of the cross section of the pipe line 1, supporting members 2a, 2b are arranged on both side surfaces of the vortex generating body 2, and the supporting members 2a, 2b are fitted to the guide groves 1a, 1b to support the vortex generating body 2 in the pipe line 1.
