PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partition structure inside a building composed of reinforced concrete, etc., allowing a surface material stretched on the surface of the partition to be smoothly provided in such a tensioned state as to have a fine appearance and permitting a ceiling cornice, a baseboard, an edge floor joist or the like to be easily mounted. SOLUTION: In the partition structure for the building, respective runners 1A and 1B are disposed approximately in parallel with each other on the sides of the ceiling and floor of the buildings, and a plurality of studs 2 are installed in a standing manner at prescribed intervals between the runners 1A and 1B. The partition structure is characterized as follows: at least the floor-side runner 1B is constituted by integrally installing a longitudinally extended projecting strip 11 in an intermediate part in the width direction of a long belt-shaped base plate 10; a recessed groove line 21 for being engaged with the projecting strip 11 is formed in the under surface of each of the studs 2 and engaged with the projecting strip 11 and consequently, the respective studs 2 are positioned for fixation in the width directions of the runners 1A and 1B.
