PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fretting wear of core wires and a wrapping wire by improving a steel cord of a nontwisted structure for reinforcing a tire, that is obtained by arranging plural core wires subjected to a continuous reforming on a plane without twisting. SOLUTION: This steel cord 1 for reinforcing the tire comprising a core obtained by arranging 3-10 core wires 2 subjected to the continuous reforming on the same flat plane without twisting the core wires 2, and winding a wrapping wire 3 around the core in a helical shape is constituted by forming fine spaces s between both side edge parts of the core and the wrapping wire 3.
